As Expedition magazine’s head editor, Beebe conceived, executed, and maintained single-handedly this full-color, Smithsonian-like publication of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Her mission was to make the research of anthropologists and archaeologists more vivid and readable for the interested lay public.

In the ten years that she has worked as a consumer anthropologist, Beebe has conducted ethnographic research in publishing, advertising, medicine, automobiles, food and wine, the hospitality industry, the film industry, and consumer electronics and technology sector (such as testing PDA and cell phone keypad designs, cell phone and PDA predictive text methods, consumer attitudes toward new handheld designs and functions, and safety issues with cell phone use and driving).

In addition to Beebe'’s active applied research with diverse clients, she also maintains her own anthropological research and publication trajectory. A long time expert on Spanish culture, she returns annually to northern Spain where she is studying the changes and challenges to the fishing and farming life of coastal Atlantic villages. She recently completed two new books, The Spiritual Traveler--Spain: The Guide to Sacred Sites and Pilgrim Routes in Spain and Michelin Green Guide—Provence. She has worked in seven languages, Spanish and Persian (Farsi) being her strongest after English.
